Dear Hope College Parent

If you have a student graduating from Hope College in 2010, please read this letter carefully.

Many parents call the Haworth Inn to reserve hotel accommodations for Graduation Weekend in May. However, the College reserves all 50 rooms for various guests coming for the graduation ceremony such as the Board of Trustees, Alumni Board, etc. Therefore, we are in the position of not being able to reserve rooms for parents with graduating students. We are, however, able to put a very limited number of people on a wait list in case the College does not need all of their rooms.

If you would like to be placed on the wait list, we will begin putting names on the wait list starting on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. eastern time for 2010 graduation. Based on experience, if you would like to be on the wait list, I strongly urge you to call that day. I doubt we will be able to even put you on the wait list after May 4. I believe it will fill quite quickly. Furthermore, since Tulip Time now coincides with graduation weekend, I suggest that even if you make it onto our wait list, you make a back up reservation at another Holland hotel. If we are unable to place you on our wait list, I advise you to make reservations at another Holland property as soon as possible.

Once the College determines their room needs, we will contact you to let you know if a room has become available. I should receive this information the first or second week of April, 2010.
